Learning Experience Paper v1

Learning Experience Paper v1

Q Learning Experience Paper v1 General Directions and Guidelines Your first writing assignment this semester is the opening section of your long essay on your education. In this paper you will describe how you learned to do something you did not know how to do before, or achieved mastery of a body of knowledge you did not have before. This is NOT a paper about a sudden revelation, and it is also NOT a paper about how to do the thing you learned. It is a description of what went on in your body and mind as you acquired a new skill or body of knowledge. The skill or knowledge you learned can be anything, as long as it is something that took you a while to acquire. The readings that are linked to this assignment will give you some idea of the kind of thing that makes the best essay. Read the attached articles carefully and think of a similar thing in your own life. Write a draft, and look at the rubric I will use to evaluate your final version. Send your paper out to your group for comments and suggestions.Be sure to read “How To Do Peer Review” and follow the directions. Remember that peer review is a required part of the writing process in this course. Be sure to submit your paper before the deadline. Review “How To Submit and Retrieve Your Work” if you’re not sure how. This does not have to be a very long paper, but you will not be able to do an adequate job in less than three pages (double-spaced). Don’t rush, don’t skimp, but don’t pad. Your audience is the general public. Write as if you were getting published in a magazine. And as a matter of fact, at the end of the semester, that could actually happen. Don’t hesitate to email me with any questions (patriciarudden@gmail.com). I look forward to your first work.

Moving to a new country can be quite fascinating. You are practically changing your whole life. Adjusting a new neighborhood and environment. Meeting new people, transportation, technology, etc. I am from a foreign country, Suriname. Located in South America. There are many factors that go into a new country. The biggest problem I had moving in the United States especially for a five-year old was the language. I was just a tiny human being, I mean I still am now but even tinier before. New York is huge compared to Suriname. Moving to New York as a kid was one of the most difficult stages in my life. I had so many questions and I was just a cranky girl.
